It was only a matter of time before the flagship feature of the iPhone 14 Pro was copied by the developers of the Android application.

On September 7, Apple surprised everyone presenting the Dynamic Island function. The programmers used the space around the screen openings to display additional content that was useful at a given time.

Probably a few minutes after the presentation, the first developers have launched copiers, because in the Play Store you can already find several clones of Dynamic Island. I checked a few and picked the app that is – in my opinion – the best. Even if it’s still not perfect.

Dynamic Island for Android. The dynamicSpot application for download
The famous developer Jawomo is responsible for creating this app. It is primarily intended for smartphone users with centered holes for a selfie camera. The idea is that the black island should surround the webcam.

The dynamicSpot program allows you to adjust the position, height and width of the island to the nearest pixel. With just a few clicks, the interface perfectly matches the size of the aperture itself on the screen.

When the application is active, the icons of the latest notifications are visible next to the camera. Simply hold your finger on the area to expand the entire notification.

If music is played, dynamicSpot takes on the role of media controller.

The program allows you to adjust how you interact with notifications or the number of notifications displayed at the same time. More advanced options, however, require purchasing the Pro version for PLN 17.99.

Visually, dynamicSpot does not even take off on Dynamic Island from the iPhone 14 Pro. The animation pool is much smaller and at the same time they are not as smooth and pleasing to the eye as in the case of the original.

Due to the specifics of how the application works, it requires full access to the screen content and all notifications received. The creator, however, ensures that no data is collected and dynamicSpot does not even have access to the internet. And in fact, for several hours of testing, the system didn’t notice a single byte of data being transferred.

Personally, I won’t be using this app anymore, but you can see that the interest in Dynamic Island for Android is huge. The program is in the early access phase and it took two days to cross the 100,000 mark. download.
