Testosterone so important to build muscle and encourage sex drive.

What are the signs of a man lacking testosterone? One of them men will be difficult erection.

The body’s testosterone levels do decrease with age. It’s just that men can lack testosterone even though they are only two to three years old.

“Testosterone deficiency is considered a medical condition and is distinct from an age-related decline in testosterone levels,” said Darshan Patel, assistant professor of urology at the Men’s Health Center, University of California, quoting from Men’s Health.

Here are some signs of a man lacking testosterone.

1. Decreased sex drive

The effect of low testosterone is usually sex drive, aka low libido. Urologist Philip Werthman says that almost every patient with suspected or presenting with low testosterone complains of a lack of enthusiasm about sex.

Areas of the brain involved with sexual desire are equipped with testosterone receptors. Without testosterone, it’s hard for men to get aroused.

2. Difficult erection

Testosterone is needed to create and maintain an erection. Testosterone is in charge of signaling the brain to trigger a chemical reaction so that men can get an erection and stay strong.

When an erection is difficult, you should suspect low body testosterone levels. But in addition to testosterone deficiency, erectile difficulties are sometimes caused by chronic conditions such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes.

3. Hair loss

Hair loss is not always a matter of aging but also low testosterone levels.

Baldness in men is part of aging and genetics or heredity. But in men who lack testosterone, hair loss also occurs on the face and body.

4. Fatigue

Men who are deficient in testosterone often experience extreme fatigue and a drastic decrease in energy. Reporting from Healthline, men may be deficient in testosterone if they experience consistent fatigue even though they have had a lot of sleep.

5. The testicles are shrinking

Some people think that the testicles or testicles are shrinking due to cold air. Even though temperature is not related to size but low testosterone levels.

Then, the scrotum or the bag that wraps around the testicles will feel softer than usual.

6. Reduced muscle mass

Testosterone plays a role in muscle building. Automatically when levels are low, muscle mass is reduced. It’s just that, reported by Medical News Today, a study in 2016 proved that even though muscle mass is reduced, function and strength do not disappear.

7. Increased fat mass

When muscle mass decreases, fat mass increases instead. In some cases, men who lack testosterone will trigger gynecomastia or enlargement of the chest. Men’s chests that are actually a bit flat or broad become more prominent.
