1 Child Dies Due to Mysterious Hepatitis Outbreak

World Health Organization (WHO) mentions at least 169 cases hepatitis mysterious on child. This condition has been identified as an epidemic that afflicts 11 countries.

Among the hepatitis cases, at least one child was reported to have died. Meanwhile, 17 children reportedly needed a liver transplant.

Until now it is not known exactly what causes acute hepatitis. Meanwhile, adenovirus is suspected to be one of the causes.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause,” the WHO said in a statement CNN.

In some cases, this mysterious hepatitis causes a clinical syndrome in the form of an increase in liver enzymes.

Many cases report symptoms of digestive problems such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Most of the reported cases are not accompanied by fever.

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that can reduce its function. The liver is a vital organ that processes nutrients, filters blood, and helps fight infection.

Generally, hepatitis is caused by a viral infection. Adenovirus is the most common type of virus that causes hepatitis from mild to severe.

As is known, in recent times the world has been bustling with mysterious cases of hepatitis that occurred in the group of children aged one month to 16 years.

So far, 114 cases have been reported in the UK. A total of 13 cases in Spain and 12 cases in Israel. The rest occurred in the United States, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, France, Romania and Belgium.
