Max Verstappen was in a class of his own during qualifying for the fourth race. At the Barcelona circuit, he was almost half a second faster than Guven and Ten Voorde. Lando Norris switched from Porsche to a BMW for the second race of the evening, but did not go beyond 29th in qualifying and did not participate in the race
Verstappen’s dominant performance was continued during the race. At the start, Ten Voorde took second place from Guven when entering the first corner. The Dutchman looked at the back of Verstappen for a moment, but saw the Red Bull driver quickly distance himself.
Behind Verstappen a small fight started between Ten Voorde and Guven for the second position. The race leader had no message about that and soon had a lead of three seconds. Verstappen even had time to explain to viewers during an onboard round how he finished a round of Barcelona.
In the championship, Verstappen strengthened his leading position and is now in the lead without being threatened.
