Twelve nominations with 424 applicants compete for votes.

In Offenbach On Friday the election committee officially approved twelve nominations with 424 applicants for the city council election on March 14th: CDU, SPD, Greens, AfD, FDP, Linke, Forum Neues Offenbach (FO), Free Voters, Pirates, Young Offenbach (JO) , The party and the Alliance for Innovation for Justice (BIG). The migrant party, founded in 2011, is in Offenbach for the first time. The Republicans are no longer up for election. Around 96,000 Offenbachers are eligible to vote, which is almost 6,000 more than in the previous election in 2016. There are almost 48,500 for the Foreigners’ Advisory Board election, where eight nominations with 79 applicants are allowed.

In the Offenbach district In addition to the parties previously represented in the district council, the party will also run this year, the district administration announced. A total of ten parties and groups had submitted their nominations by the deadline.

On Friday, the district electoral committee decided to allow everyone. In addition to Die Party, the CDU, SPD, AfD, Greens, FDP, Left, Free Voters, FL-NEV and Pirates are running for a total of 87 seats in the district council.

In the previous district election in March 2016, the turnout was 45.6 percent.
