Manuellsen has been present in the rap scene for several decades now. One of his main concerns was always to take action against racism and discrimination of any kind. According to his own statement, he had to experience both first-hand from his childhood.
Origin
Manuellsen grew up in the Ruhr area, under foster parents of German origin. Manuellsen himself does not like to reveal much about his origins in a conversation Germania he stated that he never knew his birth parents:
“I came to my foster parents when I was 6 months old. I grew up quite normally there, just like my other siblings. Only the difference was obvious – because they are white, I’m black. (…) I have the situation practically every day that someone asks me where I come from. And I tell them:
My roots come from Ghana, but I don’t think anything beyond that is so important. I only remember my white mother. I didn’t miss my birth parents because I didn’t know them. I’ve never been to Ghana either.”
Biological father
Now Manuellsen reveals who his biological father is. According to the Ruhrpott rapper, this is George Darko, who is a celebrity in Manuellsen’s home country of Ghana. On Wikipedia it says about Manuellsen’s biological father:
“George Darko is a Ghanaian high-life musician, guitarist, singer, composer and songwriter, present on the music scene since the late 1960s. Darko was popular in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and his songs are among the most timeless and enduring high-life songs in Ghana’s music circles.” (Source: Wikipedia)
Manuellsen only revealed this information out of anger towards an opponent who wanted to provoke him. In his Instagram story, the “King in the Shadow” boss writes:
“In case any Orosbucocuk from Duisburg-Rheinhausen is wondering who my biological father is, here it is: Big Chief George Darko. Founder of Hi Life Music, Chief of Fante. (…) Let’s show people who you’re descended from, ya behavior… I could, but I won’t, because that has no honor, we’re Kabadayi du Köpek, keep barking ya skunk, you stink and you’re irrelevant without a point, Remember that!!!”
