A man was shot dead on Thursday in Avignon by the police while threatening people in the street with a handgun, said police, who do not yet mention a terrorist trail.
Called around 10 a.m. by a passer-by reporting that a man equipped with a pistol-type handgun was threatening people, the police intervened.

“The man charged at them with his weapon and was killed by the police,” a spokesperson for the Avignon police told Agence France Presse. “There are no injuries,” continued this source.
According to our information, two police crews went there, and an attempt was made to stop the march of the individual, who was advancing towards them armed. They used an LBD (defense bullet launcher) type weapon against him, but the projectile did not stop him. Continuing his advance, he was shot.
