On Thursday afternoon, the cantonal police in Nidwalden received a message that a hang glider had crashed in Wolfenschiessen – the pilot sustained fatal injuries.

As the police wrote in a message, the victim was a 56-year-old man who did not live in the canton of Nidwalden.

The man flew from the Wirzweli towards the valley with his hang glider. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, he fell into the forest above Wolfenschiessen.

With the help of Rega, in cooperation with the Swiss Alpine Rescue, the pilot was salvaged. Despite the immediately initiated resuscitation measures, he still died on the scene of the accident. (bra)
