It was just outside the Spanish city of Barcelona that a man and his son noticed something suspicious when they were walking in the Santa Coloma district.
As they passed a larger dinosaur statue, they just had to look through one of the holes for the dinosaur. That was when they suddenly noticed something very special.
The find seemed so suspicious that they contacted the police, who eventually came to the place to see what was inside the statue.
At the scene, police found a dead man. It is unclear how the man got into the statue. The police then contacted the fire brigade, which had to saw up the statue to retrieve the dead man.

A spokeswoman for the Spanish police, Mossos d’Esquadra, said The Guardian that it was a 39-year-old man. They are now investigating the death, but believe nothing suspicious has happened.
Was trapped inside the statue
– We found the body of a man inside the leg of this dinosaur statue. It is an unintentional death, without violence. This person has probably gotten into the statue and then been caught, she tells the newspaper.
The spokeswoman told the newspaper NOW that it looks like the man tried to pick up a cell phone, before he then fell and got stuck, upside down.
Reported missing by family
– We are still waiting for the autopsy results, so we do not know how long he was in there, but it seems that he has been there for a couple of days, the spokeswoman said.
According to local media, the dead man was reported missing by the family a few hours before his body was found in the statue.
