NEW YORK — Malibu will soon find itself in the Big Apple, all thanks to a coffee pop-up temporary that pays homage to the iconic Barbie doll.
The Malibu Barbie Cafe: New York City will open May 17 through September 15, according to el sitio web TimeOut.
The pop-up arrives in time for the highly anticipated movie “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
The coffee will transport takes patrons back to 1970s Malibu, California, with a Barbie-esque color scheme, beachy decor, and retro. There will be immersive spaces and photo shoots inspired by the icon herself, Malibu Barbie. There’ll even be a life-size Barbie doll box to strike your best pose in an Instagram-worthy photo.
The cafe itself will be a casual, family-friendly restaurant experience offering, among other menu options, pancakes, salads, and sandwiches. There will also be desserts and a variety of drinks.
Prices will start at $35 for children, $50 for adults. Each ticket that includes a reserved seat, a guaranteed window of time to dine, and choice of entrée and side.
