Maintenance of the Binance bitcoin exchange dragged on for several hours (updated)

A few hours ago, the popular Bitcoin exchange Binance suspended work due to maintenance.

“Unplanned system maintenance. Trading paused. Working on it”– Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao wrote.

Also, “by tradition,” he wrote that the means #SAFU, that is, safe.

Soon Zhao wrote that it would take some more time to get things going.

At the moment, deposit and withdrawal of funds, spot, margin and P2P trading, as well as asset transfers from margin, futures accounts and sub-accounts, are disabled. The Binance Futures platform, which uses a separate engine, works fine.

Note that platform performance problems were observed last week.

UPDATE: Changpeng Zhao said that it was already possible to cancel orders, but it took some time to restore the normal operation of the charts. Trading will become available again at 17:30 UTC (20:30 Moscow time).

UPDATE 2: Trading operations resumed.
