Inditex begins reopening with a maximum of 4 customers per store | Radio Coruña

He Inditex group, owner of brands like Zara The Massimo Dutti, has begun this Thursday the reopening of its smallest stores, the less than 400 square meters, by appointment and with the admission of a maximum of four clients at a time in the premises, as reported by the unions.

The company has not wanted to reveal the number of stores that have opened this Thursday and the number of stores that the group has under 400 square meters is also unknown, which are those that are allowed to open in phase 0 of the de-escalation.

In any case, these types of small stores are the least within the 1,600 that the group owns throughout Spain.

The first store, open

As reported by the unions to Efe, Inditex today has mainly opened the doors of its smallest stores in Galicia, such as the Zara store in Juan Flórez, in A Coruña, and the Zara men’s shoe located in the Plaza de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela.

Throughout the week, other Inditex stores in Galicia will be opening, such as the Lefties store in Ourense and one of Stradivarius stores in Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela, Uterqüe in Vigo, Pull & Bear, in A Coruña, the Zara Home in Vigo and Oysho, in Lugo.

The stores have opened complying with all security measures, so that all the saleswomen wear a mask and gloves, and in addition to the hydroalcoholic gel dispensers at the entrance of the stores, they have been made available to customers at various points in the stores, according to what the company has informed Efe.

Likewise, Inditex has highlighted that the testers can only be accessed by one person and after the client leaves, they disinfect and remove the garments that are not going to be purchased.

Starting next Monday, May 11, if it goes to phase 1 of the de-escalation, more Inditex stores will be operational and in that case it will be possible to access without an appointment, although the 30% capacity will be controlled and therefore the tickets and exits from stores.

The company has 1,600 stores spread throughout Spain, but most have more than 400 square meters. The measure will affect establishments of all its brands, such as Zara, Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear, Kiddy’s Class or Uterqüe.

Inditex closed its stores on March 14 when the state of alarm for the coronavirus pandemic was decreed.

As the textile group has pointed out, in the shops it opens, a sign will be placed with the phone in the window so that customers can make an appointment.

Since closing its stores, Inditex has not applied any Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) to its workers, since the president of the company, Pablo Isla, said that he would defray the payment of the remuneration of all his staff in Spain “at least until the end of April.
