Lyon: late delivery of vaccines, canceled appointments

The mayor of Lyon said Thursday morning that the Regional Health Agency was preparing to deprogram part of the vaccinations because of the delay in the delivery of vaccines.

Elected officials also demanded that the government commit to a minimum number of vaccine doses over the coming months. “This would make it possible to reopen the appointment booking and give perspective to people who want to register, even if this appointment is distant“, said Grégory Doucet.

The mayor of Lyon who recalled that since the opening of the screening center at the Palais des Sports de Gerland on September 24, 2020, more than 60,000 people have been tested.

Since January 14 and the start of vaccination, more than 5,000 people have been vaccinated at the Gerland site.

The cost for the city of Lyon is 1 million euros.

Targeted screening campaigns in the 8th and 9th arrondissements

In the 8th arrondissement, it takes place at Espace 101 and the screenings took place this week. In the 9th arrondissement, the screening center will be installed at the House of Festivals and Families in La Duchère next week.

The campaign will be renewed in 15 days. “This will make it possible to obtain a photograph and to see what is the evolution of the epidemic”, explained Grégory Doucet.

Finally, Lyon students will also be subject to targeted screening. The campaign is due to start on Friday.
