Lozoya involves Governor Barbosa in the delivery of bribes

Former Pemex director Emilio Lozoya accused the current governor of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa, of receiving millionaire bribes, along with six other former officials, to work in favor of the Energy Reform in the government of Enrique Peña Nieto.

In a document released by journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva in Image News, Lozoya assures that the resources were delivered in cash, as indicated by the former Secretary of the Treasury Luis Videgaray, between 2013 and 2014.

According to the accusation, Lozoya was instructed to attend Miguel Barbosa’s requests, which consisted of transfer his brother, a Pemex worker, from a storage terminal in Guerrero to the central offices of Mexico City, and if so, it would not arm a revolt by the PRD for the approval of the Energy Reform, as well as the delivery of 100 thousand dollars ”.

Lozoya declares that in those years they gave themselves 80 million pesos in bribes to seven legislators, including Ricardo Anaya, a former federal deputy and former PAN presidential candidate; former PAN senators Ernesto Cordero, José Luis Lavalle Maury and Salvador Vega Casillas; the current governor of Querétaro, Francisco Domínguez, as well as the former PRI senator, David Penchyna.

The first amount delivered, 10 million pesos, was allegedly delivered on December 11, 2013 at Torre Hares, at 225 Army National Avenue.

Another two for 900 thousand pesos and 13 million in an alternate Pemex headquarters located at Montes Urales 425 in Lomas de Chapultepec, in Mexico City.

The remaining four would have been delivered at the beginning of 2014 at the same office in Montes Urales: one on January 9 for 12 million, 800 thousand pesos; another on February 14 for the same amount.

The third, on March 7, 2014, for 6 million 400 thousand pesos, and the last for 12 million 400 thousand pesos on April 2 of that year.

The former Pemex director affirms that there are receipts and videos of these deliveries.

I never had a talk with Lozoya: Barbosa

After it was announced that Lozoya would reveal the names of those who allegedly received bribes to support the Energy Reform, the former PRD senator disagreed and denied having had any contact with the then director of Pemex.

“I never had any talk as a senator, no interview with Emilio LozoyaI never had a talk or interview, neither personally nor by telephone, I never visited him at the Pemex offices, he never visited me at the offices of the Senate of the Republic. I never instructed anyone to make any contact with him on my behalf, ”he said in a virtual conference on July 15.

He even argued that when the constitutional reform reached the Plenary of the Senate in December 2013, he was in serious health, but that he was in contact with his colleagues “to maintain a position against”, which he said to ratify in July and August 2014 when the Secondary Laws of the energy reform were discussed.
