A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot in his patrol car Saturday night in Palmdale has died from his wounds, and the murder is under investigation and the search for the unknown gunman has mobilized all of the county’s police resources, the Associated Press reported. press, quoted by BTA.
The 30-year-old sheriff’s deputy, Ryan Klinkenbrummer, was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, Sheriff Robert Luna said at a news conference yesterday.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Clinkenbrummer was on patrol when he was shot around 6:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, Luna added.
The sheriff’s deputy was found unconscious in his car at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q by a man Luna described as a “good Samaritan” who notified Palmdale police.
Clinkenbrummer was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, where he was treated for a gunshot wound.
“Despite the best efforts of the doctors to save his life, the sheriff’s deputy unfortunately died from his injuries,” Luna noted.
