As “24 Chasa” reported, two scenarios are currently being worked on – recalculation of the pensions with the current insurance income and increase of the burden per year of service. Each of them has several options to find the most reasonable and comprehensive solution with raising money for the elderly.
For the recalculation of the pensions with current insurance income, calculations will be made with both the one from 2018 and the insurance income from 2019. If the next managers stop at this scenario, they will need a resource of over 2.5 billion. BGN per year and it will increase in the years to come, warned the Minister of Social Affairs Galab Donev.
The second scenario for updating is by increasing the burden of seniority in calculating the pension. The ratio is now frozen at 1.2. NSSI actuaries are already making calculations with coefficients 1.3, 1.35 and 1.4.
The accounts show that about BGN 50 million per month will cost an additional option with a minimum increase to 1.3, but will lead to a 10% increase in pensions. According to the Minister of Social Affairs, this is a fairer decision. The different options for pensions would increase them by 8.5 to 9%. In case of recalculation with a more current insurance income, it would be higher, but for fewer people, Donev explained to Nova TV.
