Wheat prices fell more than corn this week – 2024-03-10 07:35:17


The USA and Russia lowered bread grain by 20 and 14 dollars per ton, France and Ukraine decreased by a little

FOB Chicago bread wheat fell $20.00 last week to $230.00/t. France lost €3.00 to €196.00/t, Ukraine was also down $1.00 to $200.00/t. Russia lowered quotes more – minus $14.00 to $206.00/t, it said in its weekly overview Sofia Commodity Exchange.

Corn also continues to trend downward. In the US, the price fell by just a dollar to USD 186.00/t, France minimally changed by minus EUR 2.00 to EUR 174.00/t, and in Russia, after the previous collapse down three weeks ago, the quotes are again unchanged at $181.00/t.

Barley prices in Ukraine are also in the negative, minus $1.00 and levels at $174.00/t for March delivery. Rapeseed on Euronext remained the only contract with upward movement and rose by 13.75 euros to 425.75 euros/t.

Crude sunflower oil contracts on the Rotterdam bourse, after some stagnation and a slight decline, are now up sharply by $40.00 to $950.00/t, and refined sugar for March 2024 delivery after a two-week rise and subsequent loss, continues to fluctuate, with its sine curve again down by minus $11.00, reaching $604.10/t on the London Stock Exchange.

At the Sofia Stock Exchange AD, trading in the “Zarno” sub-district remains calm. Selling quotes for large quantities of bread wheat are at BGN 431.00/t, DAP delivery, buyers are lower at BGN 300.00/t. Feed wheat is sought at BGN 280.00 – 310.00/t, the “buy” offers for corn are from BGN 300.00 to 310.00/t, and for oilseed sunflower, the “sell” offers are unchanged at BGN 850.00/ton.
