Al-Marsad Newspaper: Zakat, the Revenue and Customs Agency managed to foil 5 smuggling attempts of over 168 kilograms of the narcotic substance “Shabu”, after finding it hidden in expeditions, and with people who arrived in the Kingdom through a series of customs ports.
The authorities explained that in the first attempt, which was at the customs of Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, an attempt to smuggle more than 6 kilograms of “Shabu” was thwarted, after being found hidden inside the bag. a passenger, while the second attempt was foiled at the port of Batha, where more than 10 kilograms of the same substance were found hidden in one of the trucks passing through the port, hiding it inside boxes of tissues that were accompanied by the truck driver.
At the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, the authority also managed to thwart an attempt to smuggle about 5 kilograms of the drug “Shabu”, hidden in the luggage of a passenger arriving through the airport.
In the fourth attempt, the authority managed at the exit of Empty Quarter to counter about 114 kilograms of shabu, which was found hidden inside the reserve fuel tank of one of the oncoming vehicles, and an attempt to smuggle more of 33 kilograms of the same substance, which was found inside the fuel tank of another vehicle, was also countered as it passed through the Empty Quarter.
The authority explained that at the end of the seizure operations, coordination was coordinated with the Directorate General of Narcotic Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures within the Kingdom, where they were arrested, for a total of 4 people.
