The London Metropolitan Police, also known as the Met, asked the population to avoid the area of the incident.
Authorities have already confirmed that the man shot by the police is dead. “We can confirm that the man shot by the police at 2 pm on Streatham High Road (south London) was declared dead,” wrote Met.

Boris Johnson has already responded to the incident. “I thank all the emergency services that are responding to the Streatham incident, which the police have declared to be a terrorist act. My thoughts are with the wounded and all those affected, ”wrote the British Prime Minister on Twitter.
The incident comes two months after British police killed a man on the London Bridge in the center of the city after he carried out an attack that caused two fatalities and three injuries.
