The actress Lola Herrera received this Friday the Alice Guy Award, within the framework of the fifteenth edition of the International Film and Word Festival, CiBRA. A recognition that she, she has stressed, feels “proud” of. “I identify with him, I am a fighter, women of my generation have had to fight.” The presentation of this award, held at the Santa Cruz Museum, was attended by many, including the mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, and the Councilor for Culture, Ana Perez. A film, ‘Days of Football’, which is also the star of the poster for this 2023 Film and Word Festival. Precisely, that will be one of the common threads of the closing gala, which will be held this Sunday, from 6:00 p.m., at the ‘El Greco de Toledo’ Congress Palace.
A gala in which the other two Alice Guy awards will be presented to Emma Suárez and Paloma del Río (in the ‘other fields’ category), as well as the ‘Toledo de Cine’ award for Fernando Tejero or the ‘Orden de Toledo’ award for Carolina Yuste. A list of honorary awards completed by the singer Víctor Manuel (‘Adaptation to a life: a life of cinema’ award) and Javier Cercas, who will receive the I Literary Award ‘El Viento de la Luna’.
However, a few hours before, Cercas himself will participate in a meeting with different reading clubs from Castilla-La Mancha at the Cigarral del Ángel Custodio in the regional capital. An activity that will be free access until capacity is reached and that will begin at 12:00 p.m.
CiBRA, the Film and Word festival, has the support of the Government of Spain, Toledo City Council, the Castilla-La Mancha Communities Board, the Toledo Provincial Council and the Puebla de Montalbán City Council.
