Zimbabwe summoned the US ambassador to Harare on Monday to denounce White House comments accusing the African country of profiting from protests against police violence and racism in the United States. “He is currently in a meeting with the minister,” spokesman for the Zimbabwean foreign ministry James Manzou told AFP.
Several American cities, including the capital Washington, have been placed under curfew after several nights of riots caused by the death in the United States in Minneapolis of a black man, George Floyd, smothered by a white police officer during his arrest .
US President Donald Trump’s national security adviser Robert O’Brien on Sunday denounced critical comments from China, Russia, Iran and Zimbabwe on the case, calling them “foreign adversaries”.
