jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The government of President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi conveyed a stance observing developments in the field related to the delivery of aspirations regarding the Job Creation Bill in various forms in all regions.

“For the sake of order and security in the midst of society, the government conveyed the following matters,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukkam) Mahfud MD in a press conference in his office which was broadcast live, Thursday (8/10) night.

One, said Mahfud, the Ciptaker Law was formed precisely to carry out the government’s duties in building community welfare through the creation of more employment opportunities, protection of workers, simplification of the bureaucracy, and ease of doing business.

“As well as to eradicate corruption and extortion (illegal levies), and prevent other corruption crimes,” said Mahfud accompanied by National Police Chief General Idham Azis, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Head of BIN General (Purn) Budi Gunawan.

Two, continued Mahfud, the government respects freedom of opinion and expresses aspirations related to the Ciptaker Law as long as it is done peacefully, respects the rights of other citizens, and does not disturb public order.

Three, said Mahfud, the government regretted the anarchistic actions carried out by the masses in certain places by destroying public facilities, burning, injuring officers, and also looting. “This action is clearly a criminal act that cannot be tolerated and must be stopped,” said the former head of the Constitutional Court (MK).

Four, Mahfud continued, the act of destroying public facilities and physically attacking civil servants and citizens is insensitive to the conditions experienced by people who are struggling against the Covid-19 pandemic and difficult economic conditions.

Five, for that, for the sake of order and security, the government will take a firm stand against anarchistic actions which are aimed at creating chaos and fear in society.
