We would all agree that Jean-Michel Aulas be Prime Minister of France, it would be very beneficial for our football. Sunday, the president of AS Saint-Etienne, Bernard Caazzo, paid the head of his counterpart of Olympique Lyonnais.
And the comments of the Stephanois boss summed up the almost unanimous opinion of the presidents of Ligue 1, tired by the hard-hitting JMA, left on a crusade against the Professional Football League following the final end of the season, thus deteriorating the image of all French professional football in these times of crisis.
Boycott or removal?
Up to now, the annoyance of the leaders with regard to Gone had only been translated by verbal contests, in person or by media interviewed. But, Friday, this file could take a new turn with much more concrete consequences for the boss of OL. This day must indeed be held the meeting of the college of Ligue 1, an organization linked to the LFP and that Aulas chaired since last September. According to L’Equipe, several presidents plan to boycott this meeting in order to signal their disapproval of JMA’s attitude, while others even plead for the dismissal of Gone. No one will be surprised to learn that the Marseillais Jacques-Henri Eyraud is part of this category.
Aulas private from CA?
Recall that this status of president of the college of Ligue 1 allows Aulas to attend as a guest on the board of directors of the LFP, of which he is not a member. It was also on this occasion that new tensions with JHE had recently appeared, the southerner accusing him of monopolizing speech while he was present as a simple guest. An eviction would therefore have consequences which would go beyond the only symbolic framework and which would complicate Aulas’ number one mission: to defend the interests of OL. Suffice to say that the Lyonnais would have been well inspired to make themselves very small by Friday by hoping to escape the wrath of their counterparts, but it would be bad to know the character who hastened to react to these corridor noises on Twitter (see here )…
