Vinales Wins, Joan Mir Bites His Finger

Maverick Vinales performed brilliantly in the opening race MotoGP 2021. He emerged as a champion MotoGP Qatar, while world champion Joan Mir bite the fingers.

Vinales, who started from third position at the Losail circuit on Monday (29/3/2021) in the morning WIB, dropped to fifth position entering the first corner. But slowly he improved his position so that he could poke to the forefront of the 15th lap.

Rider Monster Energy Yamaha then opened the distance and ensured a front finish. Drama takes place in the fight for position 2-3.

World champion MotoGP Joan Mir had won second place on the last lap. But Johann Zarco and Francesco Bagnaia followed suit and took advantage of Mir’s mistake at the final corner to overtake.

As a result Mir failed to finish in the podium zone, losing to Zarco and Bagnaia.

The course of the race

After starting, Bagnaia maintained a leading position. Jack Miller shot to second place, followed by Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin. Ducati controls the front four entering the first corner!

The position does not change until one round is complete. The Yamaha trio of Fabio Quartararo, Maverick Vinales, and Valentino Rossi respectively finished 5-7. Danilo Petrucci became the first racer to crash.

Quartararo and Vinales overtook Martin in the third round. Meanwhile, Rossi fell to ninth position after being passed by the Suzuki duo: Alex Rins and world champion, Joan Mir.

Quartararo and Vinales continued to cut the gap with the leading three. five rounds of work, Rins passed Martin and took sixth place.

Quartararo got past Miller in the sixth lap and managed to keep him on the straight. Rossi is now in 10th position after being called by Aleix Espargaro.

Vinales caught up with Miller in the eighth round. Up front, Bagnaia began taping Zarco.

15 laps remaining, the order is: Bagnaia, Zarco, Quartararo, Miller, Vinales, Rins, Mir, Martin, A. Espargaro, Oliveira, Rossi, P. Espargaro, Binder, Bradl, Marquez, Bastianini, Lecuona, Marini, Morbidelli, Savadori

Vinales successfully overtook Quartararo into the 11th round and took third. Behind him, Miller, who had fought Rins, now began to press Quartararo. Miller managed to overtake in the next lap.

Shortly thereafter, Vinales caught up with Zarco for second place. Rins soon took fifth place from Quartararo. Bagnaia is still in the lead, followed by Vinales, Zarco, Miller, Rins and Quartararo in the top six.

Vinales has been sticking to Bagnaia since taking second place. Zarco was still on the trail, while Rins took the fourth place from Miller in the 14th round.

Vinales’ efforts paid off in the 15th lap, he led the race after overtaking Bagnaia. Zarco, Rins, Miller and Mir completed the top six with Quartararo dropping to seventh.

Zarco passed Bagnaia and kept the distance for nearly a second on the 18th lap. But Vinales was 0.6 seconds ahead of the pole position. Behind them: Mir, Rins and Quartararo.

Mir managed to overtake Bagnaia on lap 20 to enter the podium zone. Up front, Vinales was already 1.4 seconds ahead with two laps remaining.

Mir did not stop, he overtook Zarco and rose to second place in the last lap. But the story doesn’t stop there. Mir went wide at the last corner, then Zarco and Bagnaia overtook the straight and took 2-3 place!

Vinales was the winner, followed by Zarco and Bagnaia. Mir, Quartararo and Rins are 4-6. Completing the top 10 are Aleix Espargaro, Pol Espargaro, Jack Miller and Enea Bastianini.

Valentino Rossi finished in 12th position, while his teammate, Franco Morbidelli, was 18th. Three riders failed to finish, namely Alex Marquez, Takaaki Nakagami and Danilo Petrucci.
