Fifty years ago, on June 28, the first Gay Pride march was held in New York. It marked a turning point in the fight for the rights of the LGBTIQ community. The march was attended by over a million people and was considered a historical event.
It was in the Stonewall Inn, one of the places of “atmosphere” of the New York city, where everything originated. Starting on that day every June 28, thousands of people go out to march and fill the streets with colors proud of who they are. This time on the occasion of COVID-19, the celebration will move to the virtual field.

The event started yesterday and lasts all day today. It aims to be the largest LGBTIQ celebration in history: 24 hours of content transmitted via streaming.
Global Pride 2020 is broadcast on www.globalpride2020.org. In Argentina it can be seen from 2 pm on the site and start with a video of last year’s local pride march. In our country for climatic reasons the celebration has been held for years in November.
The host of the vitual event is the singer Todrick Hall, who is a gay activist and speaks out against racism. The day will be crossed by the protests after the crime of George Floyd, the Afro-descendant man killed by the US police a month ago.
