LG 8K TVs will be expensive, but AirPlay compatible

During the CES which will officially open next Tuesday, LG has lifted the veil on a range of new 8K TVs. In total, the manufacturer will market eight new models, all between 65 and 88 inches, in OLED and LED depending on the variants, at prices which have yet to be determined.

It will certainly not be given, but we know at least that these eight models will all be compatible with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. LG is one of Apple’s partners and it’s a safe bet that all of its high-end TVs will benefit from these features now.

For amateurs, the manufacturer highlights the technical qualities of these models, which are powerful enough to handle 8K at 60 Hz. The integrated HDMI sockets are too, but you can enjoy content at the right definition directly on the TV , via webOS which is used by LG for its integrated system.

The in-house processing processor, the α9, is now in a third generation and will enable standard definition content to be transferred to 8K thanks to a good dose of artificial intelligence. In particular, it must detect faces and text to treat them differently.
