Levon Hampartzoumian shocks our pensioners

The Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders (BBLF) is organizing for the 19th time the Annual Responsible Business Awards 2021 under the motto “Give a good example”, and the ceremony will be attended.

116 initiatives with a cause for corporate social responsibility and sustainable development are competing in this competition.

Despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, there is an increased interest in the competition, Levon Hampartzoumian, chairman of the BBLF, told Radio Sofia.

“This is a very good place to share who does what and if he wants to be useful to society, if he wants to be useful to his community, he can just draw a good example from other companies,” said the financial expert.

According to him, the jury consists of companies and institutions with a high reputation. The people from BBLF do not participate in the evaluation, but only organize the process.

“The evaluation is dispassionate and I think it is also appreciated by the participants, because they know that they are participating in a transparent and fair competition,” he added.

Asked about economic and social realities and how to think about personal finances in the wake of the pandemic and the war, Hampartzoumian said inflation has a set of two components.

On the one hand the technical components and on the other the psychological factors.

“Not only people, companies sometimes start accumulating stocks of this or that, they start creating imbalances,” Hampartzoumian said, adding that there are factors that will improve over time and supply chains will readjust.

He added that in the interim, which could last months or even years, it will be more difficult.

“The good news is for people in active economic age,” Hampartzoumian said, adding that they will recover with some delay.

According to him, it will be more difficult for people with fixed incomes, such as retirees and rentiers.

He added that income and expenditure must be balanced as carefully as possible on a personal level, and that we hope that the war will end sooner so that we have a predictable environment.

“Usually there is an economic boom after wars,” Hampartzoumian said, adding: “In any case, there will be difficulties, inflation and readjustment of production and supply chains.”
