Lennart Otten will also play at EHC Freiburg next season

Sturmtalent will also play for EHC Freiburg in the coming season

A young, up-and-coming attacker has extended his contract with the second division ice hockey team EHC Freiburg by another year. 21-year-old Lennart Otten came to Freiburg from Düsseldorfer EG last year as top scorer in the German youth league DNL. In Breisgau, the left-handed shooter was only able to play 20 main round games due to injuries, but left an impression on those responsible.

Otten scored five goals and three assists. In the coming season he will now have the chance to prove himself again in the DEL 2. Sports director Peter Salmik is impressed by the performance of the 21-year-old: “It was a bit of a surprise for us how quickly Lennart found his way around in the DEL2, the senior division and the team. From the start you noticed how clever he was acts on the ice and that he can take on the role of a playmaker.” Head coach Robert Hoffmann also sees development potential: “Lennart more than convinced us in his first season. Even though he was unlucky with his injury, he came back even stronger afterwards. We expect him to take the famous next step and look forward to having a player to have this potential in our team”
