Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – The long Pentecost weekend begins for Hesse on (today) Saturday with prospects of warm, friendly weather. Because of the corona pandemic, it is important to keep your distance, and the mask is still mandatory in many public areas. But after the recent easing of the corona-related restrictions, short breaks or a visit to the restaurant at Pentecost are possible again. The tourism companies in Hesse’s holiday regions in particular are hoping for guests.
The German Weather Service predicted temperatures of mostly more than 20 degrees for the long weekend, but ground frost can occur in some places at night. Especially on Whit Monday there should be sunny summer weather: Then the maximum values should rise to up to 27 degrees on the Rhine. Otherwise, they are predicted to be 23 to 25 degrees.
The police and law enforcement officers will once again ensure that everyone adheres to the rules on distance and hygiene. Recently, however, relatively few violations were found on the weekends.
The Bundesliga continues to play: Eintracht Frankfurt has to play the away game at the last formally strong VfL Wolfsburg (15.30) on Saturday afternoon. After six games without a win, relegation ranks have come closer for Eintracht.
In Frankfurt, protests against the corona restrictions again, around 500 participants have registered for the largest rally in Frankfurt at the Weseler shipyard.
