The rising star Karin Ann makes a lot of knowledge about herself in the world. Only recently, the Czech-Slovak singer celebrated her twenties and has already managed to appear on a billboard in Times Square in New York, the world press writes about her, and the star group Imagine Dragons chose her as a frontman on her tour. For Life in the Stars, she talked about her career and controversies.
Singer Karin Ann has a pretty busy schedule lately. For example, her graduation day looked like she had managed her oral graduation in the morning and in a few hours she was already standing on the stage in Riga, where she started the European tour of Imagine Dragons, with whom she also performed in Prague in June. “I didn’t know what to expect. We have a different style of music, so I didn’t know how people would take it. It turned out better than I expected,” Karin said.
Karin Ann has been on the music scene for four years and during that time she has managed to build a global team around herself. One of the members is, for example, the American music producer Carmen Rizzo, who collaborated with Coldplay, Michael Jackson or Tiëst.
“I think it’s exciting to work with someone who’s not famous yet because you have no expectations at all. You go into it without fear,” says Rizzo. Although Karin lives her dream and distributes positive energy all around her, gloomy days catch up with her from time to time. “Now I’m getting a little aware of what I lost when I set out on such a track so soon,” Karin notes, but doesn’t regret her decision.
Karin sings mainly about mental health, toxic relationships or equality. She is not afraid to call herself when she does not like something. It caused a real uproar, for example, in Poland, where it broadcast a rainbow flag, which is a symbol of the LGBT community, in a live broadcast on state television. In a strongly believing country, they did not take this gesture well at all. “It became a big deal, I didn’t expect it. But it had a great response, at least in the local community,” the singer concluded.
