Lawyer: Navalniy suffers severe pain, worries about his life – Abroad – News

“He suffers from severe back pain and pain in his right leg,” lawyer Olga Mikhailova told an independent television channel. “Everyone is worried about his life and health.”

Already reported, Russian prison doctors believe that the prisoner Navalny is in a satisfactory state of health, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Vladimir Oblast said.

“On March 24, the FSIN Vladimir Oblast authorities carried out medical examinations at the request of the convicts, and the convict was also examined by Navalny. As a result of the examination, his state of health was recognized as stable and satisfactory,” the press office told reporters on Thursday.

Earlier, Navalny’s lawyers pointed out that the opposition prisoner had felt significantly worse since he had a severe back pain in recent weeks and could not press his foot to the ground. The lawyer said that the oppositionist had been given an analgesic.

On March 15, the general public learned that Navalny was in the Pokrov Prison in Vladimir Oblast. On social networks that day, Navalni announced that he was “generally fine”. On March 22, another tweet was published on behalf of the politician. In it, he told about “favorite moments of the day” while in prison. There was no mention of Navalny’s health record.

The 44-year-old Navalny was arrested on January 17 at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport after returning from Germany, where he recovered more than four months after being poisoned by the war substance Novichok. Navalny believes that behind his poisoning is the Kremlin, which has denied the allegations.

FSIN explained Navalny’s detention by saying that Navalny had violated the terms of the suspended sentence imposed on him in 2014, and the court exchanged it for an actual prison sentence.

The arrest of Navalny in Russia sparked widespread protests, during which police detained about 11,000 people.
