A fight triggered a large-scale police operation in Graz’s Volksgarten park on Friday. Several of the people involved attacked each other with batons, among other things, probably due to a drug dispute.
The fight broke out in broad daylight and police said several men were involved.
27-year-old captured by the police
When several police patrols, including the recently installed “Schnelle Interventionsgruppe” (SIG) arrived at Graz’s Volksgarten, the participants tried to flee. A 27-year-old man from Afghanistan was arrested with his baton. According to the police, the men risked becoming one. Argument over drugs, this verbal altercation then ended with a physical assault. The investigations, also to trace the other people involved, are still ongoing.
