Lamborghini Urus Performante: Italian Police to Deploy New Life-Saving Supercar

The new Urus goes to work next year with tasks that sound likeable. The Lamborghini will be reserved for a special service involving, for example, the urgent transport of organs or plasma. In other words, this car should really help and save lives.

The equipment therefore includes, for example, a defibrillator or a refrigerator for the transport of organs. In addition, police officers will find an armored weapon box on board, and a compartment for storing service equipment is located in the luggage compartment.

The Urus also received a police livery designed by the Lamborghini Centro Stile department, reflective police logos and, of course, blue LED beacons with a two-tone electric siren.

The drive is provided by a four-liter eight-cylinder turbocharged with two turbochargers with an output of 490 kW (666 hp) and a torque of 850 Nm. The SUV can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and accelerates to 306 km/h.

But the Urus Performante will not be the first Lamborghini in the service of the Italian police. The automaker has been cooperating with the police since 2004, and the Urus will be its sixth “lamb”. Currently, the police also have a super sports Huracán LP610-4 in their fleet.

“We are very pleased to continue our 20-year collaboration with the Italian State Police,” said Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, at the handover of the car.

“I and the entire Lamborghini company are proud that our cars serve the public and especially in vital operations to save human lives. These initiatives, which bring us great satisfaction, prove our innate close ties with Italy,” he added.
