Mexico City. With the application of 512 thousand 611 vaccines against Covid-19 on Tuesday, the accumulated figure rose to 19 million 340 thousand 234. Of these, 8 million 418 thousand 291 correspond to people with complete schemes of any of the biologicals available in the country.

Of the immunogens applied, one million 30 thousand 941 have been for health workers; one million 29 thousand 940 are members of the education sector; 10 million 687 thousand 419 older adults and 235 thousand 936 people who are between 50 and 59 years of age, informed Ricardo Cortés Alcalá, director of Health Promotion.

He reported that today the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) released 198,840 Chinese vaccines from the Cansino Biologics company, which are packaged at the Drugmex plant in Querétaro.

He also commented that tomorrow the arrival of a million doses from the Chinese company Sinovac is expected and on Friday, Cofepris will release another batch of 856,900 from Cansino.

Regarding the behavior of the pandemic, in the past 24 hours 772 deaths were confirmed for a total of 218 thousand 7. The trend of the epidemic curve continued with a downward trend in week 16 (from April 18 to 24) with less 10 percent, compared to the previous week.

There are 21,246 active cases, equivalent to less than one percent of the cases that are estimated to have been infected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Mexico, which as of today are 2,543 thousand 83.
