Kristen Bell will star in the new Netflix series The Woman in the House. The streaming service reports this on Wednesday. The actress will also act as producer of the thriller series.
Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Brittney Segal produce the series for Gloria Sanchez Productions, the production company that previously collaborated on titles such as Dead to Me, Hustlers in Booksmart. Writer and producer Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is the series’ creative advisor.
In the eight-part thriller series, Bell plays the role of Anna, a woman with a broken heart and a drinking problem for whom every day is the same. When an attractive neighbor moves in across from her, her life gets new impetus, until she suddenly witnesses a gruesome murder.
Bell previously played lead roles in the series Veronica Mars in The Good Place. She can also be heard as Anna’s voice in the film Frozen and she is the voice over for Gossip Girl.
The release date of The Woman in the House has not yet been announced.
