Kozhikode – 25 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 75,000 for the accused who sexually assaulted a sixteen-year-old girl by giving her beer. Avinash (23) of Thalakulathur Annasseri Kaniyeri Meethal house, Ashwant (24) of Talakulathur Kandankail house, and Subin (23) of Purakatteri Periya house were sentenced by Koilandi fast track special court judge M. Suhaib under POCSO law and Indian Penal Code.
The incident related to the case was in 2022. The girl, who was going home after class, was told to take her home by the accused, who took her on a bike to a deserted field in Paloramala, gave her beer and sexually assaulted her.
The case registered by the Elathur police was investigated by Kozhikode Assistant Commissioner P. Bijuraj, Advocate P. Jethin appeared for the prosecution.
