North Jakarta Koja Sector Police revealed an online prostitution case involving a married couple. The perpetrators exploit minors as commercial sex workers (CSWs).
“There are seven victims and almost all children are underage. There are (aged) 15 to 17 years old. These children are from Cianjur and were indeed recruited, accommodated in one of the boarding houses provided by these perpetrators in the Jakarta area North, “said Chief of Police Koja Kompol Cahyo at Map of Koja, North Jakarta, Saturday (06/27/2020).
The husband and wife are secured namely DN and KN. In addition, the police also secured one man with the initials S. These three perpetrators, said Cahyo, were the providers of prostitution.
The perpetrators promote prostitution through a conversation application. This practice has been carried out for the past 6 months.
“The profit for one transaction is Rp.100 thousand for this suspect. Then for the victims, they can also get Rp.100,000 to 150,000. So they can be sold at one transaction for Rp.300,000, yes,” Cahyo said.
