Ronald Koeman many are rumored to be training Barcelona. Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, it is rumored that he will replace Koeman in the Dutch national team.
Koeman actually still has two years remaining on his contract with the Netherlands. However, the 57-year-old coach asked for the deal to be terminated early because he would replace Quique Setien to coach Lionel Messi et al next season.
Koeman-Barcelona speculation strengthened after the coach had been seen in Catalonia since Sunday (16/8/2020). It is believed that the agreement between the two parties has been established, so that Barca now only has to pay compensation to the KNVB (Dutch Football Federation).
With this situation the Netherlands must rush to find a replacement for Koeman to prepare for next year’s European Cup. Arsene Wenger emerged as a successor candidate Ronald Koeman.
Reported Mirror, Wenger is reportedly offering his services to the KNVB as a new coach. It is known that the veteran French coach is still eager to work on the sidelines even though he is 70 years old.
Wenger is currently the director of FIFA in charge of global football development. The owner of three Premier League champions’ medals has not coached any team since leaving Arsenal in 2018.
“Every day I want to train, I’ve been doing this my whole life,” said the coach who is nicknamed the Professor told Europe1, earlier this month.
“I’m 70 years old, I’ve given a lot. Should I play a little Russian roullete, even if it concerns my health? I can’t do things half-heartedly so I ask myself this question,” he added. Arsene Wenger when answering the possibility of training again, specifically about the potential to replace Ronald Koeman.
