After the spring crisis, oil prices have stabilized, while economic activity is seeing a gradual recovery.

The prices of road fuels sold at service stations in France rose very little overall last week, according to official figures released on Monday August 17th. Diesel, the best-selling fuel in the country, was worth 1.2367 euros per liter on average, a tiny increase compared to the previous week (1.2364 euros), according to data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition. The 95 super unleaded gasoline sold for 1.3316 euros, up 0.36 cents from the previous week.

As for SP95-E10, which contains up to 10% ethanol, it rose slightly by 0.22 cents to 1.3205 euros. Finally, the SP98 was sold for 1.3981 euros, or 0.31 centime more.

Fuel prices at the pump vary depending on several parameters such as the price of a barrel of oil, the euro-dollar exchange rate, the level of petroleum product stocks and demand, as well as taxes. After a drop following the Covid-19 pandemic, oil prices have stabilized at modest levels and are currently moving above $ 40 per barrel of North Sea Brent.
