The Kitchen Champion Division, in collaboration with Gamers First and Predator, is launching the Kitchen Champion Division Esports Predator Fan Competition, featuring Rocket League. The launch of the esports competition follows on from the successful Keuken Kampioen Division Esports Fan Tournament earlier this year.
The Kitchen Champion Division Esports Predator Fan Competition (KKDEPFC) is played with the game Rocket League. The competition will take place over an entire season and will start on September 24, 2020. As with the regular football competition, the esports competition consists of four periods, with one team and club each period crowned as the period champion. At the end of the competition, one club is the overall champion.
A club qualifying tournament takes place online prior to each period. Fans can register in teams on behalf of one of the sixteen Kitchen Champion Division clubs for the qualifying tournament. The tournament ultimately yields sixteen teams that will represent their Kitchen Champion Division club in the relevant period (each period has seven or eight rounds of play). At the end of the period, the Period Finals will take place, in which the top 6 from the period will compete for the coveted period title. All matches are played online from home.
Kitchen Champion Division launches Esports Fan Competition with the game Rocket League
Four times per season, the fans have the opportunity to play for their favorite Kitchen Champion Division club through the club qualifying tournaments. This means that in theory it is possible for four different teams to represent one Kitchen Champion Division club during the competition. The points collected by the teams from the regular rounds – thirty rounds of play will be completed over an entire season – count towards the league table and ultimately determine which club will be crowned the very first esports champion of the Kitchen Champion Division.
Philip Tiekink, Marketing Manager of the Kitchen Champion Division, is looking forward to the new esports competition: “This will really be a competition from and for the fans. Four times a season, fans are given the opportunity to represent their favorite club and present themselves to the outside world, not physically on the field, but virtually with the game Rocket League. It is also great that we can extend the period system from the football competition to the esports competition, so that we also get several connections per season within esports. ”
According to Joost Roset, CEO of Gamers First, the KKDEPFT ties in well with the esports community in the Netherlands: “Rocket League is the perfect binding agent between the fans of the clubs, esports fans and gamers. Rocket League is exciting, pleasing to the eye and to score is to win. In combination with our shoutcasters, analysts and presenter, from the H20 Esports campus, we will make it a true multimedia spectacle. “
Acer is committed to its predator gaming brand as the main sponsor of the competition. Sterre Swank, Acer’s Marketing Manager, is excited about the collaboration: “Our Predator brand stands for fun and performance and these two elements come together nicely in this competition. Esports is part of today’s sports world and we are happy to share our passion for game technology with this ever-growing group of esports fans. ” The KKDEPFC is broadcast live every Thursday by Inside Esports on the YouTube channel of the Kitchen Champion Division and the Twitch channel of Inside Esports.
As of today (Monday, August 17, 2020), teams can register via www.keukenkampioendivisie.nl/esports for the club qualifying tournaments of the 1st period that take place in the weekend of September 12.
Wat is Rocket League?
Rocket League is a game set in a virtual football stadium. Unlike football that we know, Rocket League has cars on the field that compete against each other with the aim of scoring as many goals as possible. The two teams playing against each other are each represented by three cars (with optional substitutions). Rocket League is a multiplatform game. This means that the game can be played by users of the PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
