The emotional Kim Jong-un addressed the North Korean people on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea. In addition, the leader had a difficult time, he took off his glasses and wiped his tears. “Our people had confidence in me, but I failed and cannot always live up to that confidence. I’m sorry for that ”, said Kim Jong-un.
Then he referred to his grandfather and father – the previous two leaders of North Korea: “Although I was entrusted with the important responsibility of leading this country, my efforts proved insufficient to rid our people of the difficulties in their lives.” The North Korean leader was referring, among other things, to the current pandemic.
Kim Jong-un’s speech was not only about mistakes. Weapons were also part of his speech. He also unveiled a large intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). However, he guaranteed that weapons would only be used if he and / or the country were threatened: “If anyone uses his troops against us, I will pre-empt our most powerful attacking force to punish them.”
