A South Korean diplomat claims that North Korea’s supreme leader, Kim Jong Un is in a coma, Mother. The news also said that Kim Jong Un’s sister Kim Yo Jong was being groomed to take responsibility for North Korea.
Chang Song Min, a former aide to the late South Korean president Kim Dae Jung, claims North Korea is hiding the truth about its leader’s deteriorating health. He also said that he understood the dictator was in a coma.
“I think he is in a coma, but his life is not over,” said Chang Song Min, reported by Nzherald.
Chang Song Min added that Kim Yo Jong is now ready to take over as the country’s new supreme leader.
“The complete succession structure hasn’t been formed yet, so Kim Yo Young put forward because the vacuum cannot be maintained for a long time, “he said.
This week, South Korea’s spy agency, the National Intelligence Service (NIS), reported that Kim would gradually shift authority to his sister to relieve stress despite her young age. The claims come after Kim reportedly promoted his sister to deputy commando earlier this week.
Kim Yo Jong is now in charge of North Korea’s policies towards the United States (US) and South Korea, making him the de-facto representative.
Chang Song Min’s claim emerged even though North Korean media released images purportedly showing Kim Jong Un attend a government meeting. However, these pictures cannot be verified.
The 36-year-old North Korean leader has only been seen a few times this year following speculation of a ‘failed’ heart surgery in April. However North Korea quenched these rumors after releasing footage of Kim cutting the ribbon at the opening of a fertilizer factory last May.
