Kim Jong-un Completes Successful Visit to Russia, Strengthening North Korea-Russia Relations

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is returning home after completing his schedule in Russia.

On the 18th, the Korean Central News Agency reported that Chairman Kim departed from Vladivostok on the 17th, Yonhap News reported.

Chairman Kim departed Pyongyang on the afternoon of the 10th, entered Russia on the morning of the 12th, and met with President Vladimir Putin at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Amur Region on the 13th.

Afterwards, he moved to Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Province, and visited a fighter jet factory. On the 16th, he met with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, and toured the armament airfield and the Pacific Command.

On the 17th, they visited Far Eastern Federal University and met North Korean students, while also watching a walrus performance at the aquarium. After completing a two-day itinerary in Vladivostok, Chairman Kim departed for North Korea on a private train from Artium-1 Station.

The news agency said, “Comrade Kim Jong-un successfully completed his official goodwill visit to Russia. He stayed for two days in Vladivostok, the last stop on the visit, and observed various objects in the fields of military, economy, science, education, and culture.” .

He continued, “I expressed my gratitude to President Vladimir Putin and the Russian leadership and people for their special attention and warm hospitality wherever I went during my visit to Russia, and wished for the prosperity of Russia and the well-being of its people.”

He commented, “Comrade Kim Jong-un’s official friendly visit is an opportunity to further solidify the traditional bond of good neighborly cooperation between North Korea and Russia, which is rooted in comradely friendship and militant unity, and open a new chapter in the development of relations.”
