Keukenhof will not open on March 21 | NOW

Keukenhof announced on Saturday that the season opening on March 21 has been canceled due to emergency measures regarding the corona virus.

The internationally renowned flower park writes in a statement that the ban on meetings with more than a hundred people, which was instituted by the cabinet last week, also applies to outdoor events.

“We realize that these measures have significant personal and business implications for many people and businesses involved in Keukenhof and international tourism in the spring season,” the statement said.

Keukenhof says it is ready for an opening on April 1, a day after the current emergency ordinance expires, if possible. The management of the park keeps a close eye on the developments surrounding COVID-19.

Last year, eighteen million people visited the flower exhibition in Lisse in eight weeks, including many foreign tourists.
