Kari Krogstad (16) died in a tractor accident in Skjåk – NRK Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

It was Kari Krogstad from Skjåk who died in the tractor accident. The accident happened on Wednesday last week.

This is stated by the police in a press release. Police are still working to find the cause of the accident.

The 16-year-old was on his way to work in Aktiv in Lom when the accident happened. It was passers-by who found her trapped under the tractor.

Active and sociable girl

Kari’s uncle, Ola Aaboen, is the spokesperson for the family. He describes Kari as an active, calm and well-liked girl, who will be missed by many.

– Kari was very fond of everyone around her, an easy-going girl. She was active summer and winter, which seemed good in her job and at home on the farm, says Aaboen.

The family dog ​​Kira was extra important for the 16-year-old.

– She loved animals, and spent a lot of time with the dog. She also helped with farm work, says Aaboen.

The family is having a hard time, the uncle continues. Ever since the accident happened, they have been well taken care of by crisis teams and the local population. Kari leaves behind parents, an older brother and a twin brother.

– It goes up and down with them all. Fortunately, they have many around them who care about them, says Aaboen.

– Terribly sad loss

Kari is described by employer Aktiv in Lom as gentle and solid. The company runs both a climbing park, activity park, zip line and arranges trips. Kari worked in the activity park.

– Kari was reliable and a very active girl with a lot of knowledge, who fit in well with us, says Elin Husom Slålien, general manager of Aktiv in Lom.

She speaks to NRK with the consent of the family’s spokesperson.

Husom Slålien further says that Kari was part of a very close-knit gang. In the activity park, she worked with 33 other young people aged 14 to over 20 years.

– Losing Kari is a terrible sad loss for all of us, says Husom Slålien.

The young people Kari worked with are taken care of by the employer, as well as the municipal crisis team.

No witnesses

The police continue with tactical investigation, interrogation, says acting sheriff in Nord-Gudbrandsdal, Jørn Morten Sletta

– We get assistance from crime technicians from Hamar who work in parallel, says Sletta.

There were no witnesses present when the accident occurred which means that it takes time to find out the course of events.

Passers-by found the 16-year-old under the tractor, got her loose and performed first aid until an ambulance was on site.

– She was taken to St. Olav’s hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, life could not be saved, said operations manager Bård Einar Hoft in the Innlandet police district to NRK.
