justice lifts the sanctions against the supporter suspected of racist cries towards Prince Gouano

In its judgment rendered on December 17, the administrative court of Dijon annuls the sanction pronounced against a supporter of the DFCO suspected of racist cries towards the former captain of Amiens SC Prince Gouano on April 12, 2019.

The Dijon administrative court, in its judgment of December 17, 2020, annulled, for lack of evidence, the decision by which the prefect of Côte-d’Or banned a supporter of Dijon Football Côte-d’Or (DFCO) to visit the stadium for two years.

Suspected of racist cries during the Dijon-Amiens match on April 12, 2019, the supporter belonging to the “Les Lingon’s Boys” club, was prohibited from entering or going to the vicinity of a stadium to attend DFCO sporting events and an obligation to respond to summons from the police during these matches.

Monkey sounds

On April 12, 2019, after 77 minutes of play, Amiens SC captain Prince Gouano decided to leave the pitch. During the match, the player claims to have heard monkey sounds coming from the stands. “I turned around and indeed there was a gentleman looking in my direction and continuing“, he confided. The same evening, a man was arrested and then taken into custody for provoking racial hatred. Since the start of the case, the 22-year-old supporter has denied the facts.
