Jokowi Receives the Final Draft of the Job Creation Law from the DPR through the State Secretary

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DPR finally submitted a draft of the Job Creation Law to President Joko Widodo.

The final manuscript of the Copyright Act was submitted by Secretary General of the DPR Indra Iskandar to Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Wednesday (14/10/2020) afternoon.

Indra arrived at Patikno’s office at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, at 14:21 WIB, as broadcast on YouTube Compass TV.

It showed the final manuscript of the Copyright Act to journalists’ cameras before entering the main lobby of the National Secretariat building.

The draft law sent to the President consisted of 812 pages. A total of 488 pages are the contents of the law, while the rest are explanations.

This draft has gone through the process of revision and editing by the Secretary General of the DPR after being passed in a plenary meeting on October 5, 2020.

Previously, drafts had been circulated with different page counts. At least, there were three drafts that were accepted by journalists, including a draft as thick as 905 pages and 1,035 pages.

Chairman of the DPR Legislation Body, Supratman Andi Agtas, acknowledged that there was a substantial change in the final draft with the draft previously circulated.

However, he explained, the change was an alignment of decisions when the bill was still being discussed.

Until now, the public has not been able to access draft Work Creation Act on the official website of the DPR or the government.

In fact, on the DPR website, in the Priority Prolegnas process chart, the new Job Creation Bill was recorded until the Level I Talks.
