Jokowi Gives ‘Fresh Wind’ about the COVID-19 Pandemic, Listen!

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is optimistic that the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia will be under control in 2022. This can be seen from various economic indicators that continue to show improvement.

Even so, Jokowi still asks all parties to be careful, especially against the transmission of the Omicron variant which is currently increasing.

“The year 2022 will be a momentum and the handling of the pandemic will also be more controlled, although be careful there are still Omicron variants to watch out for,” said Jokowi at the ‘Financial Services Industry Annual Meeting 2022’ broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s Youtube channel, Thursday (20/1). /2022).

In his presentation, another reason that made him optimistic that the COVID-19 pandemic could be controlled was because the Corona vaccination rate continued to increase. He noted that 301 million vaccines have been injected per day.

Jokowi said the coverage of the first dose of vaccination had reached 85 percent, while the second dose had reached 58 percent. Even now, the government has started giving the third dose or booster to the Indonesian people since January 12, 2022.

“We must use the better handling of the pandemic to generate optimism, give confidence, greater trust to the public and business actors to immediately resume economic activities and other productive activities,” he concluded.
