A fire in New York’s Bronx borough killed 19 people on January 9. Among them were nine children. Cardi B also grew up in this neighborhood and therefore wants to support the bereaved by paying for the funeral expenses: “I can’t imagine the pain and anguish that the families of the victims are going through, but I hope it will help them to not worry about the expenses associated with the funeral of their loved ones. I send my prayers and condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.”
The New York borough is still very close to her heart today: “I am very proud to be from the Bronx and I have many family members and friends who still live and work there. So when I heard about the fire and all the casualties, I knew I had to do something to help.”
