Jokowi Asks Luhut to Help Manage Cooking Oil, This is what the Ministry of Trade says

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan to help with the distribution cooking oil.

The Director General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Trade said that in the future Luhut’s role would be to help, such as a director who helps the process of distributing cooking oil through a government-owned application.

“We already have an application system for distributing cooking oil through SiMirah, which must use an ID card, so we are developing a new system or strengthening the SiMirah so that it doesn’t only use ID cards but uses NIK. but the leader is still Mr. President,” said Oke when met by Kompas.com, Monday (23/5/2022).

Oke said, Luhut had proven experience in managing the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) and the Care Protect application. “National, care to protect it, even though the motorbike is in Java and Bali,” he said.

He explained that later the purchase of cheap bulk cooking oil was carried out by including a Population Identification Number (NIK).

Purchases, he continued, no longer use Identity Cards (KTP) because the records between distributors may not be connected to each other. Meanwhile, according to him, with the NIK, it will be possible to know if someone has bought it at any distributor.

“So if the NIK is like PeduliLindung. He bought it there and then there, it will be found out. That’s what we perfected, that’s his goal,” said Okay.
